30-Foot Custom Inflatable Sculpture for Taglialatela Galleries

Taglialatela Galleries, based in New York, represents contemporary and pop-art artists internationally. For this project, the gallery commissioned a custom inflatable sculpture for Italian artist Fidia Falaschetti, known for his bold, playful, and thought-provoking large-scale work. The piece was intended to serve as a centerpiece for an art activation and video production.

The Challenge

The vision was ambitious: a 9-meter (30-foot) inflatable art sculpture that maintained the exact proportions and expression of Fidia’s original character work. It needed to function not just as a display piece, but as a monumental sculpture visible from the streets below when installed on the rooftop of the Taglialatela Galleries building in New York.

Unlike smaller commercial inflatables, this project required advanced structural planning. The inflatable had to withstand wind exposure, repeated inflation cycles, and remain stable when installed at height—all while respecting the artist’s aesthetic expectations with no visible compromise.

Project Scope

  • Design and fabricate a custom 3D inflatable sculpture

  • Use high-performance Oxford cloth material

  • Engineer continuous airflow and blower integration

  • Create a rooftop anchoring method suitable for New York city building standards

  • Deliver the sculpture ready for installation and video production

Our Approach

Because the sculpture required constant air supply, we designed the inflatable with a reinforced internal structure and high-capacity blower to ensure stability and shape consistency. Multiple anchoring points were incorporated discreetly into the sculpture’s form to preserve the visual integrity while ensuring safety when installed on the gallery roof.

The piece was produced with no minimum order requirement—an important detail given this was a one-of-a-kind artistic installation rather than a mass production run. Throughout production, we maintained close communication with the artist and gallery to guarantee that the proportions, finishing, and final presence aligned perfectly with the creative vision.

Results

The final inflatable sculpture was successfully displayed on the rooftop of Taglialatela Galleries and later featured in video content showcasing the installation. The sculpture became a high-impact visual statement—catching attention from pedestrians, art followers, and the gallery’s online audience.

This project demonstrated our ability to execute large, technically challenging artistic inflatables with precision, safety, and aesthetic integrity.
